It is bad news for PTPTN loan holders as National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is collaborating with Bank Negara to list those who not settled their loan repayments under the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS).
According to Education Minister II Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, those who have not settle their loan repayments should seek PTPTN to discuss their problem or might face difficulties when applying for other loans.
However, he said this was not something scholars should worry about as it is for those who are adamant about not repaying their loans. He added that PTPTN loan holders that unable to repay their loan could discuss their payment plan with PTPTN to come up with a new repayment schedule.
This would enable their names to be excluded from the CCRIS database. Those who managed to repay their loans in one lump sum before Sept 30 this year will get a 20% discount.
PTPTN loan holders
I’m one of lender of PTPTN. There’s still balance to pay but my schedule payment is still consistent and hopefully my name won’t be include from CCRIS database. The initiative to pay lump sum is good but I can’t do it now as I’m saving money but still pay the balance every month.
I don’t know about other’s loan but PTPTN is famous education loan in Malaysia. Do you have any experience about loan education in your country?
